Senior Engineer - Gas Turbine Product Service

About the role

The Gas Turbine Product Service Senior Engineer provides technical guidance and support to Gas Turbine customers and to GE on rotor and rotor dynamics component technology. The role covers everything from day-to-day technical troubleshooting to major, complex root cause analyses with long-term business implications for GE and its customers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to the Gas Turbine Product Service engineering team, leading root cause investigations and daily technical case support across all GE heavy-duty frame sizes
• Lead complex, high-impact root cause investigations using engineering techniques and processes, delivering accurate, timely solutions
• Lead external communication with customers, including developing and introducing TIL and ETC documentation
• Prepare technical presentations for customers and senior leadership, such as user conferences, webinars and technical reviews
• Maintain relationships with internal interfaces so customer requirements are understood and addressed
• Support the team's operational rigor on the cases they handle
• Work with other experts (TL, PE) to share cross-platform information and train less experienced staff
• Stay aware of global fleet issues and their impact on regional customers
• Travel to customer locations during unplanned or forced outages and technical review meetings
• Take part in Lean Action Workouts and lead Kaizen projects to improve Product Service processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Significant experience in Field Services, Engineering or Operations, with significant gas turbine rotor engineering experience
• Ability to travel regionally to customer GT sites and offices, typically less than 10%, and to support off-hours occasionally
• Strong written and spoken English
