Senior Hardware Engineer - GNSS Boards

About the role

u-blox is looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join its Board Level Hardware Team (BLH) and help shape the next generation of positioning products. You will work on GNSS modules, support products and advanced internal and characterization boards, with a strong focus on the High Precision GNSS product line used in industrial automation, robotics and high-accuracy systems. The role is based in Thalwil, the company's headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement hardware solutions, from concept development and component evaluation to schematic design, PCB layout and design optimization.
• Develop technical hardware specifications from product and system requirements, keeping stakeholders aligned.
• Verify and validate hardware functionality and performance against product requirements.
• Ensure deliverables such as technical specifications, production data packages and verification reports meet high quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve complex hardware, RF and GNSS issues through root-cause analysis and debugging.
• Drive the transfer of designs to manufacturing, providing production data, documentation and technical support.
• Contribute to technical reviews and guide other hardware developers.
• Maintain clear, up-to-date communication with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in electronic hardware design, including schematic design, multilayer mixed-signal PCB development and component selection in Altium.
• Strong background in RF systems and receiver front-end design (LNAs, amplifiers, filters, antenna interfaces).
• Extensive hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment and characterization techniques, and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Deep understanding of GNSS technology.
• Experience reviewing hardware designs, verification plans and technical documentation, able to work independently in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
