Senior Internal Auditor – Commodity Trading

About the role

EMEA Recruitment is partnering with an international organization to recruit a Senior Internal Auditor – Commodity Trading. In this role you will lead risk‑based internal audit engagements across international operations, evaluating governance, risk management and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver risk‑based internal audit assignments across multiple business functions, including on‑site and remote reviews.
• Conduct interviews with stakeholders across commercial, operational, risk and corporate functions to evaluate business processes and internal controls.
• Assess and document key controls, procedures and audit findings, identifying opportunities to strengthen governance and mitigate risk.
• Design and perform data‑driven audit testing, including automated analytics, trend analysis and exception reporting.
• Execute detailed audit testing across operational processes, transactions and financial activities using risk‑based sampling techniques.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company policies, governance standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior members of the audit team and contribute to knowledge sharing across functions.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CIA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Approximately 6‑8 years of experience in internal or external audit within a commodity trading company.
• Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 25%).
• Fluent English, both written and spoken; additional languages beneficial.
