Senior Legal Counsel – Data Privacy & Technology

About the role

Partners Group is looking for a dynamic Legal Counsel to lead its data privacy and technology law initiatives across global operations, with a focus on European GDPR compliance. The role offers high‑impact projects, ownership of privacy governance, and close collaboration with senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior stakeholders on data privacy, AI, cybersecurity and technology law matters.
• Drive continuous improvement of GDPR compliance and related frameworks, identifying emerging risks.
• Negotiate and draft commercial agreements, including MSAs, tech contracts, HR contracts, DPAs and TIAs.
• Build and maintain global data‑protection governance – policies, procedures, templates and decision‑making frameworks.
• Lead legal response to data breaches and data‑subject requests, coordinating with relevant functions.
• Create and deliver privacy training that fosters a privacy‑by‑design culture.
• Manage external counsel efficiently and act as a primary contact for regulators when needed.

Required profile

• Law degree with bar admission (Swiss bar admission a plus).
• 4–10 years of relevant experience in an international law firm or in‑house role, preferably in financial services or technology.
• Strong, hands‑on knowledge of GDPR and privacy risk management in business settings.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate technology and commercial contracts, including privacy and data‑transfer provisions.
• Confident judgment under pressure, balancing legal risk, urgency and business priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
• Organised, pragmatic and improvement‑oriented.
• Fluent English; German is an advantage.
