Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

Alpinum Solutions, a leading provider of managed legal services in Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its Financial Services team in Zurich. The role involves handling complex legal matters related to financial markets and supporting the firm’s regulatory and risk frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate master agreements and transaction‑specific documentation for securities lending, repo and collateral transactions.
• Identify, assess and help manage legal, regulatory and operational risks, contributing to internal policies and governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Finance and front‑office teams on regulatory implementation and cross‑functional projects.
• Monitor regulatory and market developments, participate in industry working groups and provide analysis to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Swiss‑qualified lawyer; US or UK qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in securities lending, repo or collateral transactions within a financial institution or top law firm.
• Strong drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Experience with cross‑border legal and regulatory matters; knowledge of FINMA is advantageous.
• Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and manage complex legal projects.
