Senior Manufacturing / Process Engineer – Zurich Area

About the role
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing / Process Engineer to join a highly specialised, international high‑tech manufacturing environment in the Zurich area. The role combines deep manufacturing engineering expertise with hands‑on experience in industrialisation, design transfer and optimisation of complex, low‑volume, high‑precision production processes.
Key responsibilities
- Developing and optimising precision assembly, alignment and inspection processes.
- Managing production‑line setups, operator workstations and manufacturing infrastructure.
- Leading New Product Introduction and design‑transfer activities into Operations.
- Defining, building, validating and improving production and inspection equipment.
- Managing cost‑reduction and operational‑improvement projects with responsibility for timelines, deliverables and budgets.
- Supporting product lifecycle management, component obsolescence and production‑capacity adjustments.
- Collaborating closely with R&D, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales and Program Management.
- Driving high first‑pass yield, process stability, cost efficiency and on‑time delivery.
Required profile
- At least four years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering for low‑volume, high‑precision products.
- Strong experience with complex machinery, optomechanical, electromechanical, automation or mechatronic systems.
- Proven experience with production‑line setup, industrialisation, NPI or design transfer.
- Experience developing, building or validating production and inspection equipment.
- Exposure to regulated manufacturing environments (medical‑device or ISO 13485) is highly advantageous.
- Project‑management or team‑leadership experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem‑solving skills.
- Hands‑on, accountable and collaborative working style.
- Professional communication skills in both German and English.
- Availability for approximately 10 % international travel.
