Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of complex functional consumables in a matrix‑organized, Agile environment. You will own end‑to‑end mechanical development, from concept through series production, with a strong focus on Design for Manufacturability.

Key responsibilities

• Take accountability for project deliverables and coordinate with external development partners and suppliers.
• Lead full‑lifecycle mechanical development, including concept design, design reviews, unit testing, bug fixing and maintenance.
• Drive advanced plastics engineering, optimizing parts for high‑volume injection molding and emerging plastic technologies.
• Participate in sprint‑based planning, estimation and execution alongside Product Owners, Scrum Masters and developers.
• Perform rigorous engineering analyses such as FEA, FMEA, tolerance analysis and other physics‑based simulations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and ensure high‑quality technical reviews across R&D, Operations and Customer Support.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (FH/BSc/MSc) or a comparable technical field.
• 6–8 years of hands‑on product development experience, preferably with functional consumables.
• Proven expertise in injection molding design, plastic technologies and cost‑optimized large‑scale production.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, external partners and suppliers.
• Hands‑on CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred) integrated with SAP and compliance with ISO 8015/GPS standards.
• Methodical approach to early‑stage development, strong fundamentals in physics and engineering.
• Professional proficiency in English (project language).
