Senior ML Engineer (Technical Lead)

About the role

Zerolook, a startup founded by former Google Flights and Kayak executives that has raised $1.9M in August 2026, is changing how air travel is priced, with machine learning at the core of its approach. As an early hire, the Senior ML Engineer (Technical Lead) defines the technical approach behind the product.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance, low-latency ML models for fare and itinerary estimation.
• Build and maintain data pipelines that process large volumes of historical fare and schedule data.
• Develop confidence scoring systems to route traffic between ML models and legacy stacks.
• Build core domain expertise in using ML for fare and itinerary prediction.
• Hire, lead and mentor other engineers as the team grows.
• Partner with the founders and key industry organisations to shape the core Zerolook offering.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a concentration in Data Science is a bonus.
• 4+ years designing, training and deploying ML models in production.
• Strong software engineering skills and experience building robust, automated data pipelines.
• Comfortable with the "0 to 1" phase: ambiguity, fast iteration and taking extreme ownership.
• Previous experience with OTAs, metasearch or GDS/NDC integration is a significant plus.
• Experience building applications serving over 10K QPS at around 1 second latency is a bonus.

• Broad knowledge of ML approaches and their relative strengths and weaknesses.
• Production ML expertise.

What we offer

• Compensation of CHF 140,000 to 150,000 plus significant stock options.
