Senior Platform/DevOps Engineer – Kafka & Kubernetes

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform/DevOps Engineer to maintain and evolve an event streaming platform built on Confluent Kafka. The role focuses on ensuring platform stability, driving technological upgrades, and supporting new banking‑related use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Upgrade the platform to Kafka version 8.0.
• Migrate secret management to the External Secrets Operator within Kubernetes.
• Analyse and develop tiered storage concepts.
• Support ongoing Kafka 4.0 enhancements and overall platform modernization.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE.
• Strong background operating Kubernetes environments.
• Proven experience with Kafka or other event‑streaming platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• German language proficiency at C1 level and English at B1 level.
