Senior Property & Casualty Risk Manager

About the role

Shape the risk profile of a global insurance business and turn complex risk insights into practical actions that influence strategic decisions. As a trusted partner to senior leaders, you will drive improvements in risk management, governance and decision‑making across Zurich’s largest P&C business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent risk advice and challenge to senior stakeholders on major P&C projects and decisions.
• Lead risk analyses, deep dives and assessments, reviewing risk responses and delivering actionable insights.
• Develop and enhance risk governance policies, methodologies, tools and templates across the P&C organization.
• Oversee assurance, monitoring and reporting activities, translating findings into clear insights for senior management.
• Support risk leadership on strategic priorities, executive discussions and key risk matters.
• Promote a strong risk culture through training and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• 12+ years’ experience in P&C commercial insurance or retail, preferably in underwriting, claims or risk management.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in risk management, insurance, actuarial science, finance, economics or related field; professional underwriter certification is a plus.
• Advanced understanding of P&C risk drivers including underwriting, reserving, claims, pricing, catastrophe exposure, reinsurance and operational risk.
• Experience in a second‑line risk management function providing independent review and advisory support.
• Proven ability to interpret risk information, identify themes and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and collaboration skills with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders.
