Senior RAM Engineer

About the role

Destinus Engineering is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Reliability Engineer to ensure its defense systems and products perform dependably in demanding operational environments. The role leads reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) efforts across the full product lifecycle, from early design trade studies through qualification, fielding and sustainment, working closely with system design, test and supply chain teams as well as customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute reliability program plans according to contract requirements and standards such as MIL-STD-785, MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-1629, IEC 60812, FIDES, ANSI/GEIA-STD-0009, ASD S3000L or customer-specific equivalents.
• Perform reliability predictions, FMEA/FMECA, fault tree analysis, derating and worst-case analyses, and reliability block diagram modeling.
• Define and run reliability test programs including HALT/HASS, environmental stress screening, accelerated life testing and reliability growth testing.
• Contribute to design reviews (PDR, CDR) and influence design for reliability and maintainability early on.
• Support sustainment engineering, including obsolescence and parts-quality assessments and supplier reliability oversight.
• Prepare reliability documentation and present findings to internal leadership and government customers.
• Model availability and allocate RAM requirements from system to subsystems, and carry out maintainability, testability and BIT coverage analysis.
• Contribute to maintenance and logistic support analysis, working with ILS.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems or related).
• 7+ years of reliability engineering experience, preferably in the defense sector.
• Experience in a tier 1 defense supplier interacting directly with the military customer is a plus.
• Experience with Air Defence and/or Strike systems is a plus.
• Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.

Required skills

• FMEA/FMECA, reliability prediction and statistical life data analysis.
• Modern European RAM standards: IEC 60812, FIDES, ANSI/GEIA-STD-0009, ASD S3000L.
• Military reliability and environmental standards (e.g. MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461) and DoD acquisition or equivalent processes.
• RWB Isograph or similar RAMS software.
