Senior Software Engineer - Distributed Systems

About the role

Decentriq is looking for a Senior Software / Data Engineer to own and evolve its Python‑ and Spark‑based analytics and ML pipelines. You will work on privacy‑preserving machine‑learning solutions for the advertising technology space, either fully remote or from our Zürich/Berlin office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate end‑to‑end data pipelines built with pandas and PySpark/Scala Spark.
• Improve and productionise ML models for use‑cases such as look‑alike modelling, audience expansion, and campaign measurement.
• Implement robust validation, exhaustive test coverage, and self‑healing mechanisms for workloads running inside confidential‑computing enclaves.
• Collaborate with data scientists, Rust backend engineers, and product teams to deliver features from concept to production.
• Leverage LLM‑based assistants and test‑automation tools to increase productivity and code quality.
• Profile, benchmark, and optimise Spark workloads; introduce best practices for orchestration and observability.

Required profile

• Bachelor, Master or PhD in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience building production‑grade data pipelines.
• Strong background in Python, pandas, and distributed data processing with Spark.
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks, Spark on Kubernetes or comparable big‑data platforms.
