Senior Software Engineer (Trading) - 80-100%

About the role

Sygnum, a global digital asset banking group, is hiring a senior software engineer (80-100% time) for its Trading Team. The team builds and enhances the electronic trading infrastructure covering spot and derivatives trading, including order execution, automatic settlement and business monitoring. The role focuses on new features, scalability and the quality and reliability of the systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and improvements by writing and reviewing high-quality, secure code with comprehensive test coverage
• Improve application quality and security, identify technical debt and plan to repay it
• Respond promptly to production incidents and collaborate with cross-functional teams to restore service
• Work with platform engineers to improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes
• Work with site reliability engineers and solution architects to improve availability, resilience and observability
• Mentor and coach more junior software engineers

Required profile

• Java expertise (version 21+)
• Quarkus or Spring expertise
• Experience with RDBMS, ideally PostgreSQL
• Experience with Kafka, caching frameworks (ideally Redis) and monitoring tools (ideally Datadog)
• Ability to design REST APIs with an API-first approach and understand microservices and event-driven architecture
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes; AWS experience is beneficial
• Experience with TypeScript and a UI framework (React, Angular) is beneficial
