Senior/Principal Scientist – NMR Expert

About the role

Roche is seeking a hands‑on NMR Expert to join its Analytical Molecular Characterisation group within pRED‑pCMC. You will plan, run and report NMR experiments that support structure elucidation and interaction studies across the drug development pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute and interpret liquid‑ and solid‑state NMR experiments for synthetic oligonucleotides, peptides and small molecules.
• Develop new NMR methods and contribute to the strategic roadmap for NMR within Roche’s portfolio.
• Collaborate with discovery, formulation and technical development teams as well as external academic partners.
• Provide analytical support for structure, purity and impurity assessment throughout the value chain.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (minimum 5 years) or PhD (minimum 3 years) in analytical chemistry or a related field.
• Proven hands‑on experience in NMR‑based structure elucidation and interaction studies for oligonucleotides and/or peptides.
• Open‑minded, proactive attitude with strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary matrix team.

Required skills

• NMR spectroscopy (liquid‑state and solid‑state).
• Structure elucidation and higher‑order structure analysis.
• Analytical chemistry techniques for purity and impurity profiling.
• Experience with biophysical characterization methods (a plus).
