Senior/Staff Backend Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Nango is looking for senior‑level Backend Engineers (Senior or Staff) to join its remote core engineering team. You will own end‑to‑end development of the platform that powers API access for thousands of developers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend systems, APIs, and services for an open‑source integration platform.
• Create developer‑focused interfaces such as SDKs, UIs, and runtimes that deliver a high‑quality developer experience.
• Work directly with customers to solve integration challenges and gather feedback.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of high‑traffic services.
• Contribute to product roadmap and strategic decisions with high ownership.
• Maintain and grow Nango’s open‑source repositories and community engagement.

Required profile

• 5+ years (senior) or 10+ years (staff) of backend engineering experience with high‑traffic systems.
• Deep experience in developer infrastructure, API design, databases, and performance‑critical systems.
• Passion for developer tools and delivering outstanding developer experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously in a remote‑first environment.
• Product mindset, pragmatic attitude, and willingness to step up during incidents.
• Based in North America, LATAM, or Europe.
