Site Reliability Engineer (Zurich)

About the role

Our client, a leading proprietary trading firm, is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Zurich office. You will work on a sophisticated, low‑latency trading platform, ensuring maximum uptime, performance, and operational maturity.

Key responsibilities

• Own availability, stability and performance of Linux‑based trading systems (RedHat, Rocky, Ubuntu).
• Lead incident response, on‑call duties and blameless post‑mortems, driving automation to avoid repeat issues.
• Maintain runbooks, documentation and production support standards.
• Partner with developers and traders to guarantee reliable, high‑performance system design and deployment.
• Perform low‑level Linux tuning (CPU, IRQ, memory, networking) for latency‑sensitive workloads.
• Diagnose performance issues using perf, ftrace, tcpdump and eBPF.
• Deliver infrastructure as code with Ansible, Terraform, Python and shell scripting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Linux engineering, DevOps or similar infrastructure roles.
• Track record supporting highly available, performance‑critical production environments.
• Deep understanding of Linux internals (scheduling, memory management, interrupts, filesystems, storage).
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, multicast and distributed‑system networking.
• Hands‑on experience with containerisation (Docker or equivalents) and observability tools.
