Software Engineer (AI) - 2027 Graduate Talent Program

About the role

UBS is looking for ambitious recent graduates to join its 2027 Group Technology Office Graduate Talent Program in Zurich. The program is 18 months long and prepares you for a career in finance and technology, with placements such as Technology Engineer, Data Engineer, Software Engineering or Data Science and Analytics. It starts with professional and technical training and offers rotations so you can see beyond your first job.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement technical solutions and provide transparency on data quality, data flows and current issues so applications meet the highest standards.
• Research AI and Generative AI applications in Data & Reporting, identify ways to improve processes and deliver insights, and build AI and Generative AI tools that support engineers and streamline workflows.
• Advocate for AI and Generative AI topics with colleagues and stakeholders, and work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing data platforms and reporting systems.
• Stay up to date with AI and Generative AI advances and bring fresh ideas to the team.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (within the last 24 months) who has completed their degree and graduation requirements by the start date.
• No more than two years of full-time work experience.
• Bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, AI or a related field.
• Competitive minimum GPA of 4.5 according to the Swiss grading system.
• Strong interest in AI and Generative AI and hands-on experience with tools such as ChatGPT, OpenAI, Claude or Microsoft Copilot.
• Excellent English; German is a plus.

Required skills

• Programming languages and UI development frameworks, and SQL.
• Familiarity with data engineering concepts and techniques.
• Strategic thinking, strong communication skills and comfort with high-demand, tight-deadline work.

The program includes rotations and professional and technical training, and the start date is 1 February 2027.
