Software Engineer III – Content ID Claiming

About the role

Google’s YouTube Content ID team is seeking a Software Engineer III to help build and operate the real‑time decision engine that powers YouTube’s rights‑management platform. You will work on multi‑modal signal processing pipelines that generate accurate content claims at massive scale.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage visual, audio and melody matching signals to generate highly accurate content claims.
• Identify unauthorized generative AI reuse of human likeness, animated characters and fictional universes.
• Detect Content ID bypass tricks and protect creators from illicit monetization.
• Build, run and maintain core quality systems and the underlying infrastructure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of software development experience (or 1 year with an advanced degree).
• Experience with data analysis, signal quality testing, and statistical evaluation of metrics.
• Familiarity or strong interest in signal processing, machine‑learning frameworks, or biometric classification workflows.

Required skills
