Sommelier / Chef de Rang – Seasonal Position in St. Moritz

About the role

Kempinski is seeking a dynamic Sommelier/Chef de Rang to join its upscale restaurant team for the 2026/27 winter season in St. Moritz. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional wine service, support the kitchen in pairing selections, and ensure a memorable experience for discerning guests.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and sell selected wines, providing expert recommendations to guests.
• Manage the wine cellar, conduct monthly inventories, and prepare wine lists.
• Order new wines and maintain relationships with winegrowers and merchants.
• Organise wine tastings, events, and staff training sessions.
• Collaborate with the kitchen to coordinate optimal wine‑food pairings.
• Provide table service, assist with breakfast and à la carte service, and ensure daily mise en place.
• Uphold Kempinski standards in all guest interactions.

Required profile

• Completed training in a comparable hotel environment with several years of upscale gastronomy experience.
• Certified sommelier with comprehensive knowledge of grapes, varieties, and current wine trends.
• Strong organisational skills, ability to work under pressure, and high quality awareness.
• Fluent in German and English; additional language skills are a plus.
