Specialist – Watches (Geneva)

About the role

Sotheby's is seeking an experienced watches specialist to drive growth of its watch category across Europe. The role focuses on sourcing high‑value consignments, negotiating sales, and delivering accurate valuations to meet revenue and margin targets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure profitable watch consignments for auction and private sales, achieving individual and regional revenue goals.
• Develop and nurture relationships with private collectors, trade partners, and jewelry clients to generate new business opportunities.
• Provide accurate auction, fixed‑price, fair‑market and insurance valuations for client‑requested pieces.
• Collaborate with the Head of Watches, European leadership, and global Sotheby's teams to design innovative sale formats.
• Act as an ambassador for the Watches department, promoting services internally and externally.
• Participate in networking events and conferences to expand the client network.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in luxury watches, including authentication and valuation.
• Strong relationship‑building and negotiation skills with a track record of closing complex deals.
• Business‑oriented mindset with the ability to meet P&L and margin targets.
• Experience working with high‑net‑worth clients and private collections.
