Staff Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Data Engineer to join Sonar’s Data & ML Platform team. You will design and develop the data platform that supports product, marketing, sales and engineering domains, enabling data‑driven decisions across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data storage, transformation, and load capabilities for pipelines.
• Continuously enhance the data platform and propose data handling services for stakeholders.
• Build end‑to‑end pipelines including data cleaning, modelling and connectors to source systems.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of data flows across systems.
• Collaborate on data governance, security standards and incident management.

Required profile

• Solid software engineering experience focused on data engineering pipelines and cloud storage.
• Motivated by both technical and functional aspects of services and able to work collaboratively.
• Friendly, enthusiastic, organized team player who shares knowledge and receives feedback.

Required skills

• Python for building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with batch or streaming technologies (e.g., PySpark, Databricks).
• AWS services such as Glue, RedShift, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of data engineering concepts (Data Lake, Data Warehouse).
• Infrastructure‑as‑code tools (CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Fluent English communication.
