About the role

The Service de l'enfance et de la jeunesse (SEJ) of the Canton of Fribourg is looking for a motivated legal intern to support its child protection and family law activities. This six‑month, 80% position offers hands‑on experience in legislative research, procedural management, and legal advisory work within a public service environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on legislation, case law, and doctrine, especially in family law and child protection.
• Assist in managing the pre‑notice procedure for municipal regulations concerning out‑of‑family care.
• Provide legal advice to the service’s management, staff, municipalities, and care facilities.
• Perform administrative tasks related to assigned legal dossiers.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law (mandatory).
• Strong interest in child protection legislation.
• Excellent synthesis, analytical, and writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently with good organisational and planning skills.
• Fluent oral and written French, with knowledge of German.

Required skills

• Drafting legal opinions and documents.
• Understanding of family law and child protection statutes.
