Strategic Buyer – Professional Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer – Professional Services to support procurement activities within a global pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The role is based on‑site in Basel and will run for a fixed term of seven months, working closely with Global Category Managers and site stakeholders to deliver sourcing strategies, cost savings, and procurement excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Global Category Managers to develop and implement category and sourcing strategies.
• Execute sourcing activities, including tendering, supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting.
• Identify and drive cost‑saving initiatives, delivering measurable savings.
• Manage supplier relationships across an assigned spend portfolio and ensure business continuity.
• Partner with site stakeholders to understand current and future business requirements.
• Provide spend and savings forecasts in partnership with finance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 5–10 years of strategic procurement experience, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to build and maintain global relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Customer‑service mindset with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
