Student Assistant Sustainability Services (m/f/d)

About the role

The Sustainability Services (SUS) of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) act as the central contact and coordination point for sustainability matters within the department for Quality and Sustainability. They implement and monitor the university's sustainability strategy, including progress toward its net zero goal, and provide data, reports and guidance to support evidence-based decisions. This full-time student assistant position supports SUS in its work.

Key responsibilities

• Support HSG-wide internal and external communication on sustainability topics, such as social media and LinkedIn, on-campus activities and presentation material
• Support quantitative and qualitative data analysis, for example for reporting and benchmarking
• Provide conceptual and coordination support for the unit's strategic projects, such as managing stakeholder logistics and consolidating results
• Help with ad hoc tasks arising from the unit's day-to-day business

Required profile

• Fluent in English and German
• A genuine interest in sustainability and its grand challenges; prior knowledge or experience is a plus
• Ideally available for one year or more than one semester

Required skills

• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, enjoying work with data and complex topics
• Strong communication skills, including writing and ideally some experience with texting and social media (e.g. LinkedIn) in a professional context
• Structured and reliable way of working, comfortable working independently and in a team
