About the role

Join Roche's Pharmaceutical Research & Early Development team as a student intern focused on lab automation. You will work alongside experienced automation scientists to develop and validate automated sample preparation workflows for genomics, proteomics and flow cytometry.

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement quality control assays for liquid handling platforms.
Plan, perform and document experiments to validate and benchmark automated workflows.
Program and validate user interfaces, robotic pipetting workflows, and automated report generation.
Present results to stakeholders and provide training and support to users.

Required profile

Enrolled in a bachelor or master program in biology, biotechnology or a related field, or graduated within the last 12 months.
Prior programming experience in Python, Matlab or R and a desire to expand automation skills.
Interest in technical equipment and cutting‑edge automated liquid handling technologies.
Strong communication skills in English and a collaborative mindset.
