System Engineer – Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

About the role

L&T Technology Services is seeking a System Engineer specialized in Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to join its team in Bulle, Switzerland. You will work on next‑generation engine control architectures, applying digital engineering methods to design, simulate, and validate control functions.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of system‑level control design, including design, simulation, verification and validation.
• Develop and maintain model‑based plant and system models and Model‑in‑the‑Loop (MiL) simulation environments.
• Define system‑level control specifications, covering failure mode analysis, safety and cybersecurity.
• Analyze and document dynamic behavior and interactions of engine control system elements.
• Perform evidence‑based trade‑off analyses to optimize technical solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain engine control system architectures (hardware, software, services) with emphasis on performance, quality and reusability.
• Support application engineers during commissioning at test benches and field deployments.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in automotive, powertrain, mechanical, mechatronics or electronics engineering.
• Solid experience in combustion engine control system development, including multi‑physics modeling and preferably engine calibration (performance and emissions).
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink.
• Embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong skills in model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) and signal processing.
• Familiarity with ALM/PLM and requirements authoring tools.
• Experience with MBSE environments such as System Composer, Cameo, Rhapsody or similar.
