System Test Engineer (Part-Time)

About the role

Stadler Signalling is looking for a motivated System Test Engineer in Wallisellen, Switzerland, on a part-time basis. You will review and test railway signalling systems and subsystems, work with engineering teams and help improve testing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse system, subsystem and hardware requirements from a testing perspective
• Develop test cases and scripts for system and subsystems, including integration, manually or automatically
• Run tests in the simulated environment or laboratory and document results in the test report according to the test plan
• Analyse and report defects, provide initial system analysis and document test activities
• Work closely with development, safety, verification and validation teams
• Improve testing processes, tools and methods through feedback and proposals

Required profile

• Master's degree in engineering, computer science or another scientific field
• Professional experience in railway signalling systems such as CBTC, ERTMS, conventional interlocking, ATO and collision warning systems
• Experience in system testing of complex and/or safety-critical systems
• Fluent English is mandatory; German is an advantage
• Proactive, good team player, interested in new solutions and technologies

Required skills

• Preferred: ISTQB Foundation Level certificate
• Preferred: knowledge of tools such as IBM (ERM, EWM, ETM) and SVN
• Preferred: Python scripting, PLC programming, testing of SIL 1,2,3,4 systems and understanding of EN50716:2023
