Team Leader, Youth Leadership, Participation & Engagement (Volunteer)

About the role

The International Youth Federation seeks a senior volunteer to lead Pillar 1 of its Programme Framework, focusing on youth leadership, participation and engagement. This remote, part‑time position will shape an emerging programme area and support global youth empowerment initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of global youth engagement mechanisms, knowledge‑sharing platforms and resource curation.
• Coordinate annual and quarterly planning, monitor implementation progress and facilitate collaboration across HQ, regional teams and volunteers.
• Contribute to programme design, results‑based management, indicator development and learning documentation.
• Identify partnership opportunities, develop knowledge products and promote external visibility of pillar achievements.
• Convene and support volunteers, fostering an inclusive, youth‑centred working culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in youth leadership, participation or related development programmes.
• Proven ability to design, implement and evaluate youth‑centred initiatives across multicultural contexts.
• Experience providing technical guidance, advisory support and building partnerships in international development.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of evidence‑informed approaches to youth leadership and participation.
• Ability to coordinate cross‑regional teams, volunteers and external stakeholders.
• Competence in results‑based management, monitoring, evaluation and knowledge management processes.
