Team Manager Pilot Plant & Process Science

About the role

The Team Manager Pilot Plant & Process Science leads the Pilot & Process Science team within Celonic's Biologics Development Center, overseeing pilot‑scale biologics drug substance production and technology transfer to commercial manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and develop a team of biotechnicians and process engineers, setting objectives aligned with Celonic’s strategic goals.
• Design, execute, troubleshoot and document pilot‑scale processes for mammalian cell culture, upstream and downstream processing.
• Plan and coordinate pilot plant activities and resources to meet project commitments and S&OP plans.
• Support technology transfer of processes and documentation to commercial sites.
• Promote technical excellence by assessing and implementing state‑of‑the‑art bioprocessing technologies.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and HSE standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in pilot‑scale or commercial biologics production.
• Proven experience leading small‑ to mid‑sized operational teams and managing multiple projects.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
