Technical Sales Engineer – Integrated Photonics

About the role

LIGENTEC is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer specialized in Integrated Photonics to provide pre‑ and post‑sales technical support, strengthen the sales team, and drive business development.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer needs into workable photonic solutions and define Statements of Work.
• Conduct proof‑of‑concept PIC design studies and create PIC layouts.
• Provide technical support throughout the sales cycle, from pre‑sales to after‑sales.
• Collaborate with internal Engineering/R&D teams to develop tailored solutions.
• Manage customer relationships, act as primary interface, and maintain the sales pipeline in CRM.
• Contribute to marketing strategy with talks, application notes, press releases, and webinars.

Required profile

• Highly customer‑ and solution‑oriented mindset.
• 3+ years hands‑on experience in integrated optics or a PhD in the field.
• Industry experience in technical sales or application engineering is a strong plus.
• Proven track record of meeting sales targets in a technical environment.
• Excellent technical problem‑solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Working proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Integrated optics knowledge.
• Experience with photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design and layout.
• Familiarity with integrated photonics software tools.
