Technical Scrum Master & DevOps Practitioner (12-Month Contract)

About the role

Julius Baer is seeking an experienced Technical Scrum Master and DevOps Practitioner for its Agile team in the GPS domain. The role combines coaching Scrum teams in SAFe principles with driving DevOps practices such as continuous integration, automated testing and reliable release pipelines. It is a 12-month contract filled through an external agency payroll provider.

Key responsibilities

• Coach Scrum teams in the GPS domain in SAFe and Agile practices, including Sprint and PI planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives and backlog refinement.
• Empower teams to self-organise and improve using Agile tools (Jira, Confluence), process optimisation, automation and waste reduction.
• Identify and remove blockers, escalate critical issues to leadership, and collaborate with Product Owners, development teams, Test Management and other stakeholders on ART initiatives.
• Work with fellow Scrum Masters, POs and leaders to spread agile maturity across organisations.
• Propose and develop automation scripts, manage configuration, packaging and deployment of application components, and drive onboarding of applications to platforms such as an observability testing framework and a CI/CD platform.
• Drive standardisation and automation in the GPS domain, contribute to the Software Solutions strategy, and meet regulatory and risk management standards.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or equivalent role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field.
• Certification in SAFe, such as SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Practitioner (SP).
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and to work in a global, fast-paced team.

Required skills

• DevOps and CI/CD pipelines; Linux administration and scripting (Unix/Linux commands, bash, Python)
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Octopus, Maven
• Cloud experience with Kubernetes, Azure Application Platform (e.g. AKS) and distributed architectures
• Preferred: REST, GraphQL and WebSocket APIs, Kafka and Websphere MQ, observability tools (Grafana, ElasticSearch, OpenTelemetry), Java development background, and knowledge of trading flows, market data and risk management systems
