Technician – Magnet Prototyping

About the role

Proxima Fusion is seeking a hands‑on Technician to support the manufacturing and integration of magnet prototypes for its stellarator fusion program. Based in the Zurich workshop, you will work directly with engineers to turn cutting‑edge designs into physical hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Perform machining, mechanical assembly, wiring and installation of magnet components and experimental setups.
• Build, test and iterate mechanical prototypes, ensuring they meet design specifications.
• Maintain workshop workflow, supporting high‑activity periods and ensuring timely delivery of prototype systems.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and other technicians to resolve manufacturing challenges.

Required profile

• Practical, hands‑on attitude with experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow detailed technical drawings and work safely with tools and equipment.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support both manufacturing and experimental activities.
