Trade Promotion Intern

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC), the joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, is looking for a Trade Promotion Intern to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from developing countries in preparing for the China International Import Expo (CIIE). The role is home‑based in Shanghai and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to trade promotion under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pre‑event support to participating MSMEs, including WeChat and exhibition registration.
• Collect, organize, and translate relevant materials for participants.
• Assist in planning and delivering project activities such as meetings, trainings, and events.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth implementation of all activities.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a bachelor programme, a graduate programme, or a recent graduate.
• Strong interest in international trade and development.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and remotely from Shanghai.
