Underwriting Assistant

About the role

Join the underwriting team at Ageas Re, supporting the processing of underwriting submissions for business written from our Brussels and Zurich offices. You will work closely with underwriters and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with underwriters, promote standards and support selected underwriting activities.
• Assist underwriters by downloading and filing documentation, maintaining tracking sheets, conducting sanctions screenings, and ensuring compliance with internal guidelines.
• Prepare contracts for signature, manage contractual documentation, and enter risk and contract information into the administration system.
• Prepare reports and briefing materials for conferences, client meetings, and business visits.
• Liaise with Claims, Accounting, Finance, and Tools & Process Development departments to ensure efficient communication.

Required profile

• Previous experience in retail or financial services, preferably in underwriting support with basic knowledge of reinsurance.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in handling data and documentation.
• Willingness to quickly learn new technologies, tools and methodologies.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a structured, process‑oriented approach.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
