Valuation Controller (100% F/M/D)

About the role

Julius Baer is seeking an experienced Valuation Controller to join its Product Control team. You will support the Head of Valuation Control in maintaining and enhancing the bank’s valuation control framework, ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Own key valuation control and prudent valuation adjustment workstreams, including analysis, reporting and issue resolution.
• Conduct independent price verification, valuation adjustment reviews and fair‑value controls.
• Collaborate with Product Control, Front Office, Risk, Finance, Technology and other functions to ensure robust governance.
• Prepare and present materials for management meetings, valuation committees, audits and regulatory discussions.
• Develop and maintain methodology documentation, control design and operating procedures.
• Drive process improvement, automation and control enhancements using Python, Dataiku or similar tools.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Data Analytics or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in valuation control, independent price verification, prudent valuation adjustments or comparable banking control role.
• Strong technical knowledge of valuation methods, fair‑value hierarchy and regulatory requirements (IFRS 13, Prudent Valuation).
• Deep understanding of financial instruments such as fixed income, rates, credit, FX, derivatives and structured products.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Business fluency in English; German or other languages are a plus.
