Vehicle Systems & Quality Engineer

About the role

Flux Mobility AG, which develops electric light commercial vehicles in Winterthur, is looking for an experienced Vehicle Systems & Quality Engineer. The role takes technical ownership of product and process quality, from the parts supplied by vendors through own assembly to vehicles in the field, ensuring that what is designed is what is built.

Key responsibilities

• Define quality requirements, inspection characteristics and acceptance criteria together with the engineering team.
• Qualify suppliers and their parts: initial sample inspection (PPAP/ISIR), first-article inspection, process capability and supplier audits.
• Set up and maintain control plans, process FMEAs, work instructions and end-of-line checks for assembly.
• Handle non-conformances, deviations and rework decisions, keeping documentation traceable.
• Drive 8D and corrective action processes with suppliers and internally, and support Conformity of Production.
• Analyse test, field and warranty data, identify failure patterns and feed them back into design and process.
• Work with production, engineering and field teams, as well as external suppliers and partners.

Required profile

• Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics, production engineering or a comparable discipline.
• At least 5 years of industry experience in quality engineering, ideally in automotive or a similarly regulated industry.
• Experience in supplier quality: qualification, audits and day-to-day escalation with suppliers.
• Fluent German and good English.

Required skills

• Core quality methods: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, 8D and structured root cause analysis.
• Solid technical understanding of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems, including reading drawings, specifications and test reports.
• Advantageous: measurement and inspection methods (GD&T, MSA), familiarity with IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 and Conformity of Production requirements.
