Women's Wear Designer

About the role

Sportlux is seeking a creative and commercially driven Women’s Wear Designer to join its Product Design team in Mendrisio. Reporting to the Head of Design, you will lead the end‑to‑end design and development of seasonal women’s collections for premium and luxury brands.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop seasonal womenswear collections across categories such as tops, dresses, knitwear, outerwear, tailoring, denim, accessories and lifestyle apparel.
• Research global fashion trends, consumer insights and competitor activity to create innovative, market‑relevant collections.
• Produce mood boards, colour palettes, fabric stories, prints and silhouette concepts that reflect brand DNA.
• Own the full product development process: create CADs, technical sketches, specifications, BOMs and tech packs; collaborate with pattern makers, garment technicians and suppliers; review prototypes and provide fit and construction feedback.
• Source and develop fabrics, trims, washes and finishes, with a focus on denim and premium finishing techniques.
• Align collections with brand guidelines and commercial targets, working closely with Merchandising, Planning and Sourcing teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Apparel or Textile Design or a related field.
• 3–5 years of womenswear design experience in premium, contemporary or international fashion brands.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication and technical product development.
• Hands‑on experience managing the complete product development lifecycle from concept to production.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Competence with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with PLM or CAD systems (advantageous).
• Knowledge of denim fabrics, garment washes and premium finishing techniques (strong advantage).
