Workshop Coordinator

About the role

The Destinus team in Payerne seeks a hands‑on Workshop Coordinator to ensure smooth operation of the R&D workshop, covering work preparation, warehouse logistics and day‑to‑day workshop management. The role blends bench work, stock handling and planning responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage workshop stores and warehouse: receive goods, maintain stock levels of materials, consumables and tooling, and keep accurate inventory records in the ERP system.
• Coordinate site logistics: schedule deliveries and shipments, liaise with suppliers and carriers, and ensure timely material flow between internal teams and external partners.
• Keep the workshop organized: oversee tool inventories, schedule equipment maintenance and maintain a clean production environment.
• Support manufacturing directly when needed, including machine setup, workpiece preparation and assisting technicians on the floor.
• Assess manufacturability of new parts, flag risks and aid the transition of components into production.
• Maintain production and logistics data in the ERP system and support reporting on stock, lead times and workshop status.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training as a Polymechaniker, machinist or equivalent (EFZ or comparable).
• At least 3 years of operational experience covering two or more areas such as AVOR, warehouse/logistics management or production floor operations.
• Hands‑on attitude, able to work on the floor as well as coordinate activities.
• Organised and self‑sufficient, capable of managing multiple workstreams without close supervision.
• Fluent in English; French and/or German are a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawings, machining methods and tolerances.
• Experience with ERP systems for inventory, production orders and logistics.
