Senior Accountant – Banking Operations & Credit Specialist

About the role

Julius Baer is seeking an experienced banking accountant to join the Financial Accounting team. You will be responsible for accounting activities across lending, banking operations, client corporate actions, and cash desk functions, acting as a trusted subject‑matter expert.

Key responsibilities

• Advise, develop and monitor sub‑ledgers for lending and banking operations.
• Participate in projects to optimise and automate accounting processes, defining booking logic and data flows.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports in line with IFRS and Swiss Banking GAAP (RVI).
• Provide expert support for internal and external audits and reconcile finance systems with core banking platforms.
• Collaborate with Group Tax, Management Accounting, IT Operations, Payroll and other internal stakeholders.
• Test, implement and roll out new functionalities in SAP and core banking systems.
• Ensure data quality, develop internal controls and optimise existing processes.
• Deliver training, create user documentation (in English) and support worldwide locations from a financial accounting perspective.

Required profile

• Completed financial or business administration education with further accounting training (e.g., specialist certificate, Bachelor/Master).
• Several years of professional experience in bank accounting, preferably in lending, banking operations or corporate actions.
• Mandatory experience with T24 or a comparable core banking system.
• Sound knowledge of banking products, especially lending.
• Good understanding of IFRS and Swiss Banking GAAP (RVI) – advantage.
• Project experience with SAP – advantage.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Very good written and spoken English; German fluency is a plus.
• Analytical, independent, meticulous work approach and strong communication skills.
