Software Engineer – Core Financial Services

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Chiasso team, working on core financial services that power MF Group’s payment and invoicing products. The position is unlimited (permanent) and offers flexible working conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain core financial services, including customer balance tracking, invoice creation, and data flows across merchants and platforms.
• Develop, test, and ship robust, maintainable software, APIs, and workflows for ledger, invoice, credit‑card and digital‑payment solutions.
• Collaborate with teammates to improve software architecture, reduce complexity and adopt best practices.
• Monitor production systems, identify optimisation opportunities and ensure secure, scalable performance.
• Contribute ideas for technical improvement and foster a positive engineering culture.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented and/or functional programming paradigms.
• Critical‑thinking attitude with a willingness to question the status‑quo.
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and working in collaborative, multilingual teams (Italian preferred, English required).

Required skills

• Java programming language.
• Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, etc.).
• Experience with containerised architectures (Docker, Kubernetes) and modular application design.
