Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer

About the role

IMTF Group is a leading RegTech provider focused on AML, KYC and anti‑fraud solutions. We are looking for a Mid‑Level Backend Software Engineer to join our engineering team in either Bensheim, Germany or Zurich, Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services for banking‑sector products.
• Write clean, maintainable and well‑tested production code.
• Implement complex features end‑to‑end, from requirements analysis to delivery.
• Contribute to the evolution of architecture, tooling and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with product management, QA and fellow engineers to turn business needs into reliable solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold high engineering standards.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 2‑4 years of hands‑on backend development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java and related technologies (JPA/Hibernate, Gradle).
• Solid database expertise with very good SQL skills.
• Experience with containerisation technologies in daily workflow.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities and high attention to quality.
• Familiarity with clean architecture, automated testing, agile methods and cloud‑native concepts is a plus.
