Accounts Payable & Overheads Analyst

About the role

This position combines core accounts payable duties with overhead cost analysis, ensuring invoices are processed accurately, compliance is maintained, and financial reporting is reliable. You will support month‑end activities and help improve cost allocation across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve invoices, record them accurately in the accounting system, and allocate to the correct GL accounts and cost centres.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate overdue invoices and open cash items to ensure proper accounting.
• Manage intercompany rebilling for overhead‑related costs.
• Support month‑end and period‑end close, preparing accruals, provisions, schedules, and reports.
• Analyse overhead expenditures such as personnel, rent, travel, and administrative costs.
• Perform variance analysis, investigate unusual trends, and provide clear commentary to management.
• Develop and maintain cost allocation methodologies for consistent distribution of overhead costs.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of overhead cost reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles.
• 3–5 years of experience in invoice processing, accruals, provisions, and cost allocations.
• Excellent analytical abilities to identify trends, variances, and anomalies.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work within established policies, controls, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong organisational skills and capacity to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Effective communication skills for presenting financial information.
