Accounts Payable & Overheads Analyst

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Payable & Overheads Analyst to join a globally leading trading company. The role combines operational accounting with financial analysis, focusing on invoice processing, cost allocation, and overhead management.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve invoices according to internal procedures and control requirements.
• Record invoices accurately in the accounting system and allocate them to the correct GL accounts and cost centres.
• Monitor compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate overdue invoices and open cash items, ensuring proper resolution.
• Manage inter‑company rebilling for overhead‑related costs.
• Support month‑end and period‑end close activities, including accruals, provisions, and reporting schedules.
• Analyse overhead expenditures (personnel, rent, travel, etc.) and perform variance analysis with clear commentary.
• Develop and maintain cost allocation methodologies across business units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in invoice processing, accruals, provisions, and cost allocations.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical ability to identify trends, variances, and anomalies.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work within established policies, controls, and compliance frameworks.
• Good organisational skills and capacity to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with financial accounting systems.
