Advocacy Advisor – UN Policy & Child Rights

About the role
The Advocacy Advisor will support Save the Children’s global influencing agenda by shaping policy and advocacy efforts at the United Nations in New York and Geneva. Working within a high‑profile, externally facing team, the role focuses on advancing child rights and influencing international norms.
Key responsibilities
- Advocate and communicate for policy change at the UN based on Save the Children’s strategic plan.
- Lead a selected priority area within relevant UN processes and bodies.
- Represent Save the Children to UN institutions and influence decision‑makers.
- Engage with Permanent Missions to influence national child‑rights agendas.
- Collaborate with the global child‑rights team and technical working groups to contribute to the global agenda.
- Integrate local to global advocacy, working closely with country offices, regions and local partners.
- Serve as the child participation and safeguarding focal point for the team.
- Promote safe and meaningful children’s participation in UN processes.
Required profile
- Legal right to work in Switzerland for the duration of employment.
- Experience in UN advocacy, policy development, or related international advocacy work.
- Ability to work in a hybrid/remote setting with flexible hours.
- Strong collaboration skills across global and regional teams.
