Application Engineer – CNC Solutions (Zurich)

About the role

Manukai is looking for an Application Engineer to be the technical face of the company for CNC manufacturers across the DACH region. Based in Zurich, you will demonstrate the company’s software, translate customer needs into product feedback and help bridge the shop‑floor with digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver customized product demonstrations for CNC programmers and production managers, either independently or together with the founding team.
• Qualify prospects technically during initial meetings, understanding their CAM environment, operations and pain points.
• Own the end‑to‑end demo preparation process, coordinating with developers to ensure each demo matches the prospect’s use case.
• Act as the technical liaison between customers and the engineering team, converting manufacturing requirements into clear product feedback.
• Represent Manukai at trade fairs, leading technical conversations at the booth.
• Support proposal creation by providing accurate technical input and manufacturing context.

Required profile

• Vocational training or degree in a manufacturing discipline (e.g., Polymechaniker, Produktionsmechaniker, Systemtechnik, Maschinentechnik, Fertigungstechnik).
• Hands‑on experience with at least one CAM system in a production environment.
• Practical knowledge of milling, turning and drilling programming tasks.
• Background in a job shop, OEM production or precision manufacturing, preferably as a lead programmer or AV‑Leiter.
• Fluent German (native level) and proficient English.
• Based in Switzerland or eligible to work there.

Required skills

• Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam, Siemens NX, GibbsCAM or TopSolid.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes (milling, turning, drilling).
