Associate Programme Officer – Market Analysis (Temporary)

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking an Associate Programme Officer to support market analysis activities within the Trade and Market Intelligence (TMI) section of the Division of Market Development. This temporary position will contribute to the design, implementation and evaluation of trade and investment intelligence projects, helping ITC’s clients make data‑driven decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the team in developing, implementing and evaluating trade and investment intelligence projects, monitoring progress and identifying corrective actions.
• Conduct basic research on trade and investment information, collect and analyse statistical data from diverse sources, and support the development of customised web‑based platforms.
• Provide substantive support for policy coordination, emerging‑issue analysis and participation in evaluations or research studies.
• Support consulting assignments by planning workshops, facilitating interactive sessions and helping clients develop actionable change‑management plans.
• Participate in survey initiatives, design data‑collection tools, analyse responses and prepare preliminary conclusions.
• Contribute to written outputs such as background papers, analytical notes, report sections and inputs for publications.
• Offer administrative and substantive support for meetings, conferences and consultative events, including agenda preparation.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.
• Excellent written communication skills for drafting reports, notes and background papers.
• Experience in coordinating project activities, tracking follow‑up actions and liaising with stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team and support capacity‑building initiatives.
