CITES Outreach & Projects Intern (2 positions)

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking two interns to support the CITES Outreach and Projects Unit in Geneva. The six‑month, full‑time internship offers hands‑on experience in wildlife‑conservation communications, multimedia production, and capacity‑building activities.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and edit content for social‑media campaigns, CITES and World Wildlife Day websites.
• Produce and edit photo and video materials for outreach purposes.
• Design factsheets, PowerPoint presentations, branded templates and other outreach resources.
• Organise and maintain internal storage of multimedia assets such as images, videos and graphics.
• Assist in communication planning and implementation for campaigns, workshops and key meetings.
• Monitor social‑media and website performance, preparing monthly or quarterly communication reports.
• Support the logistics of virtual and in‑person meetings.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate in communications, environmental studies, media, or a related field.
• Strong interest in wildlife conservation and familiarity with the CITES framework.
• Excellent written English and ability to work independently under supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PowerPoint for creating presentations.
