Communications Lead - Board Member (Volunteer)

About the role

Swiss Youth for Climate (SYFC) is a grassroots youth climate nonprofit founded in 2015, aiming to amplify the voice of Swiss youth in climate policy and advocate for ambitious climate policies aligned with the Paris Agreement. It is looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter volunteer to join its young and international team as a board member. The position is a board position, so an interest in taking part in organisational strategy development is required.

Key responsibilities

• Social media management and strategy development on Instagram and LinkedIn
• Maintain SYFC's communication and brand guidelines
• Coordinate the SEO strategy to increase online visibility
• Keep the website up to date
• Handle public relations where needed, for example during COP events

Required profile

• Fluency in English, as work is typically done in English
• Interest in environmental issues and willingness to commit on average 3-4 hours per week
• Openness to candidates of all backgrounds and identities; no prior experience is required

Required skills

• Desirable but not excluding: working knowledge of German and/or French
• Ability to manage a small team and to work independently
• Strong communication, interpersonal, collaborative and networking skills
• Willingness to learn and be creative
