Customer Application Engineer

About the role

As a Customer Application Engineer at ABB, you will be the technical bridge between customers, sales, product management and R&D for the Critical Power portfolio. You will help translate market needs into innovative, value‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build expertise in customer applications, solution architectures and market segments for Critical Power, supporting sales with fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
• Develop and maintain standards, methodologies, tools, best practices, reference architectures and reusable application frameworks.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for strategic customer applications, fostering collaboration across sales, product management, R&D and Agile units.
• Capture market trends and customer needs, turning them into actionable insights for business growth and future product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems or related field.
• More than 5 years of experience in Critical Power, UPS systems, Energy Storage or Power Conversion.
• Strong understanding of customer applications, solution architectures, market segments and channel dynamics.
• Proven ability to translate customer requirements into differentiated technical solutions and compelling value propositions.
