Data Catalog Specialist (Freelance) – Geneva

About the role

We are seeking a Data Catalog Specialist to help develop and operationalise a fit‑for‑purpose data catalog for our organisation in Geneva. The consultant will work on‑site to define priority use cases, clarify data ownership and stewardship, and embed data governance activities into daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation and operationalisation of the data catalog.
• Define and prioritise catalog use cases aligned with business needs.
• Develop and maintain metadata standards and documentation.
• Identify key data assets and document owners and stewards.
• Support data quality and data governance initiatives.
• Engage stakeholders to promote adoption of the data catalog.

Required profile

• Proven experience with data catalog and metadata management.
• Strong understanding of data governance, metadata and data quality concepts.
• Experience using enterprise data catalog tools.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
